Heat is the battery killer
A closed truck bed or a garage in August will cook a lithium-ion pack. Store batteries inside at room temperature and let a hot pack cool before charging.
Salt air rusts everything
Wipe tools down after outdoor work, keep a light oil on bare metal, and don't leave saws or blades on the patio overnight this close to the ocean.
Pick a platform and stay on it
Batteries are the real cost. Choosing one brand for cordless means every new tool can be a bare tool — and every charger already fits.
Storm season power
Before a hurricane, charge every pack and check your recip saw blades. Cordless tools are what work when the power doesn't.
Wear the gear
