Questions

Frequently asked

What paint finish should I use in a bathroom?
Pearl is our default recommendation for South Florida bathroom walls — it resists steam and splashes without making the wall look shiny. If you want a flat look, Aura Bath & Spa is a matte built for high humidity with a mildew-resistant finish.
What sheen should I use on a ceiling?
Flat, almost without exception. Ceilings are lit at a raking angle from below, so any sheen highlights framing lines and roller marks. Use a dedicated ceiling flat, or a moisture-rated matte in a bathroom.
What paint finish is best for trim and doors?
Satin to semi-gloss in a waterborne alkyd such as Benjamin Moore ADVANCE. Semi-gloss gives crisper separation from the wall and scrubs more easily; satin is softer-looking and hides brush marks better on older millwork.
What sheen should I use on exterior stucco in Florida?
Flat or low lustre on the body, so sun-hit walls don't telegraph hairline cracks, and soft gloss or semi-gloss on doors, shutters, and trim so rain sheets off. If your window between afternoon storms is short, Element Guard is rain-ready in about an hour.
