Propane Fills & Exchanges
AmeriGas tank exchanges plus on-site fills from our dispenser at the Delray Beach store — grill, RV, food truck and forklift tanks.
Two ways to get propane
Exchange a tank, or fill one at our dispenser
Both are available at our Delray Beach store. Pick the one that fits your day.

Option 1
AmeriGas Exchange Tanks
Grab a full tank from the AmeriGas cage and go. Buy a new tank outright, or bring in your old empty tank and pay the exchange price.
- New tank — nothing to turn in
- $68.99
- Exchange — bring an empty tank
- $24.99
- Fastest option — in and out in minutes
- No inspection needed on your old tank
- Filled to a standard exchange fill weight

Option 2
Fills From Our Dispenser
We fill on site at our Delray Beach store. Bring your own tank and we'll fill it as long as it passes inspection, or buy a new tank from us to keep and refill for years.
- 20 lb tank — base rate
- $19.99
- Larger tanks — by the gallon
- $5.15 / gal
- More propane in the tank than an exchange cylinder
- You keep your own tank
- New tanks available to buy, fill and reuse
All prices are subject to change. Please contact the store for the most up-to-date pricing and availability.
More propane per tank when you fill. Exchange cylinders are filled to a set weight that is less than a full 20 lb tank. Filling your own tank at our dispenser fills it to capacity — so you get more propane for your money.

Questions
Propane Fills & Exchanges — common questions
Straight answers from the counter. If yours isn't here, call us and ask.
Is refilling cheaper than exchanging a tank?
Usually yes. An exchange cylinder is typically filled to about 15 pounds, while a refill fills your tank to its full capacity — so you get more propane and you keep your own tank.
Can you fill any tank?
We inspect the collar date and the condition first. Cylinders past their certification date or with damaged valves have to be recertified or exchanged — we will show you what we are looking at.
What does a grill tank hold?
A standard 20 lb tank holds a little under five gallons of propane. That is roughly 18 to 20 hours of grilling on a mid-size gas grill.
Do you fill RV and camping cylinders?
Bring it by and we will look at the valve and the certification date. Small one-pound camping cylinders are sold rather than filled.
