How it works
Scan, sharpen, polish

Scan
The machine scans your blade to measure its size and current sharpness, then calibrates the sharpening program to that specific knife.

Sharpen
Grinding wheels make precise passes along the edge to regrind the V-bevel back to a factory edge, removing a minimal amount of steel.

Polish
The system re-checks the edge and polishes away microscopic burrs so the knife holds its edge longer.

Knife sizes we can sharpen
Resharp holds the blade in a fixed carriage, so size matters as much as edge shape. Not sure? Bring the knife in and we'll measure it at the counter.

- 3" minimum
- Anything shorter than 3" can't be held by the machine.
- Blade length
- 12" maximum
- Longer chef and slicing knives past 12" won't fit the carriage.
- Blade height
- Up to 2.5"
- Measured from the edge to the spine at the widest point.
- Blade thickness
- Up to about 0.16"
- Thicker cleaver-style stock is out of range.

- Kitchen, hunting, and pocket knives with a smooth (non-serrated) edge
- Stainless steel, carbon steel, and painted steel blades
- Forged or stamped blades, straight or curved, including granton/divot faces
- Sharpened by a trained associate in about 90 seconds per knife, while you wait
- Blades from 3" to 12" long and up to 2.5" tall — most kitchen and pocket knives
We can't sharpen
- Serrated, scalloped, or wavy edges of any kind — including bread knives
- Ceramic blades, scissors and shears, garden pruners, loppers, axes, or mower blades
- Blades under 3" or over 12" long, taller than 2.5", or thicker than about 0.16"
- Bent, chipped, cracked, or otherwise damaged blades

Which store has the Resharp machine?
Our Delray Beach store at 4591 W Atlantic Ave — the machine is located right near the front entrance. It is the only location with Resharp — our Lake Worth store does not offer sharpening.
What is Resharp?
Resharp is an automated in-store knife sharpening system. It scans your blade to measure size and sharpness, regrinds the V-bevel with precision grinding wheels, then polishes off the burr — restoring a factory edge while removing a minimal amount of steel.
Can you sharpen serrated or bread knives?
No. Resharp only sharpens smooth edges. Serrated, scalloped, and wavy blades are not compatible, and we do not sharpen them by any other method.
Do you sharpen scissors, shears, or garden tools?
No. We only sharpen what Resharp is built for — smooth-edge kitchen, hunting, and pocket knives. Scissors, kitchen shears, pruners, loppers, axes, and mower blades are not something we take in.
How long does it take and do I have to leave my knives?
About 90 seconds per knife at our Delray Beach store, on the machine right near the front entrance. It is not a drop-off service — bring your knives in, wrapped safely, and walk out with them sharp.
How do I know my knife will work on the machine?
Bring it in. Our associate examines every blade and checks it against the machine's edge type, length, and height limits before sharpening. If it isn't compatible we will tell you rather than take the job.
What does it cost?
